I looked in the owners manual, but could not find the answer. On my A/ C and heat control panel, one of the backlights went out. When I removed the bulb it looked like a 168 bulb. There were no markings on the bulb. When I went to the auto parts store the counter guy said it could be a 194 bulb. They look the same physically, but what is the main difference? Wattage?

I ended up at a list that includes - Instrument-general
161
194
194LL Long Life Upgrade: Up to twice the life of the standard lamp
Nothing more specific than that, but some clues. Compare with your glove box light, map light, license plate light, or other 168 and 194 bulbs.
168 applications all appear to be much brighter than anything that calls for a 194.
