disco td5 bulb for clock

Slip a credit card or similar above and below the clock module to 'dislodge' the catches and it will, in HBOL terminology, just slide out!

Aye, releasing the clock from the dash is the hard bit. You'll probably have to got to a dealers for the bulb. Halfrauds didn't have 'em when I replaced mine a few months back.

Could also do with replacing the one behind the passenger temp selector on the climate control but getting that panel out is defeating me. I think the radio has to come out first but that uses a non-standard release tool...

The climate control panel has catches on the two short sides. The easiest way to get at them is to pull the clock and six switch panel from either side then you can see what you're doing. Just press in towards the control panel to release. Photo available if needed.

Thanks for that, I shall investigate later. I'm not going out just now even though the near blizzard for the last 3 hours has more or less stopped there is still a lot snow being blown about by the wind and there is an 18" drift by the Landie anyway. Similary I'm not going to swap the battery in SWMBO'd car either.

Depending which bulb is in the clock, Halfords definitely stocked the one required for a 300 TDi (1997) clock last week when I bought one.

I went to Central Autos, and got a bulb for a 12v tachograph backlight. Fits no problem and cheaper than halfords. Mick Series II Discovery

many thanks for fitting instructions would have been so stuck without help. Just got to fix number 1 speed on heater and all is well in disco land for me
