Our cambelt snapped and not sure whether it is worth fixing the engine head or whether with these cars if the cam belt breaks whether it does any damage or not to the valves?

You can find out by doing a leak down test. You will have to put the engine
90 degrees from TDC and turn the camshaft to close the valves. Do it with low air pressure or the crank will turn..Al
