What "chart"? Did you mean "charter"? Where can this be reviewed? Does anyone have the ability to delete messages? Is there a moderator?

{Introduction edited, posted here for information purposes only}

RATIONALE:

Ford is one of the largest auto companies worldwide.

Currently Ford vehicle traffic is placed on other related auto groups (rec.autos.tech, rec.autos.4x4, rec.autos.makers.ford.explorer, rec.autos.makers.ford.mustang, rec.autos.misc, rec.autos.driving). The non-specific vehicle groups are very overloaded, 50 to 150 messages per day.

Ford-related mail lists (ford-svt, mustangs, Explorer-L, thunderbird) lists seem to be quite busy, and, except for some specialty lists, it would be in the best interest to have a worldwide newsgroup for this discussion.

CHARTER:

alt.autos.ford will be a newsgroup for the discussion of all other Ford vehicles which do not have their own newsgroup. It is also for the discussion of issues which deal with Ford rather than a vehicle or a type of vehicle.

Possible discussion may include:

- the buying or selling process

- the features of various models/body styles

- repairs/modifications of vehicles

- aftermarket product features

- racing (manufacturer-specific)

- problem resolution with dealers or the manufacturer

Commercial use of this group is forbidden.

This group is intended for the Usenet community to gain/provide knowledge on their Ford products, and brand-bashing is explicitly discouraged.

Unsolicited advertisements of products is also discouraged, unless mentioned in an article by the vehicle owner and/or user. For example, a person may write an article describing an aftermarket product, (an excellent example of why this group should be created), but that vendor SHOULD NOT advertise their product here.

Vehicles or parts for sale should go to the forsale or marketplace groups.
