I don't think there is a Mondeo group although there may be some web based forums.

Well I breifly drove a 53 plate Ghia estate 6 speed 130 TDci last week- only

8 miles mind- but considering how the press have semi raved about how good it is, I was disappointed.

I know I am not used to driving the 'ci, but the instant stall that it will do if you try to pull away and the revs drop below tick over speed is rather annoying, and it sounds very tractor ish even inside the cabin when warm at low speed. Not what I was expecting. The noise does disipate when your moving and have 2000rpm+ on the dial- however in an utterly lower league when compared to the 4 cyl 2litre in a BMW for example.

However once you get the thing moving torque from 1800rpm- 3000rpm is plentyful and in the lower gears fairly rips up the tarmac, but the power vanishes at about 3600rpm, so you're constantly changing gear to keep it singing. Very relaxed and quiet in 6th at the legal limit- about 2000rpm, and impressive shove in 6th upto 90 or so.

Handing very composed for a big car, and easy and deceptive to drive quickly in confidence. Thought the steering wheel was abit small though..? Dials clear and nice, but weird how the rev counter is always on the 'wrong' side (i.e. right) of the dial- somehow the scale is wrong, or else someone needs to make a diesel rev harder!

Working it hard along my favourate 1/2 mile of 'testing' road showed it virtually no quicker than my 1.8 Focus both in time and max speed attainable.

Leave it feeling very luke warm. Anyone know if the TDCi Focus is actually any good??
