I am looking for a float or a gas tank for a 1985 ford truck.

Both LMC Truck and JC Whitney have them. LMC is probably less expensive and are OEM parts. The tank is $130 and the complete sending unit is $80. You posted 'float'. If you just want that piece, it's $5.

If bad sending unit is the problem, Google for Sending unit repair. I had one rebuilt by a shop in OH. Did nice work, was quick, and only $55 plus shipping.
