Hello all, Customer has a 2005 Expedition that we installed emergency lighting into. After the install was complete, the ABS indicator lamp as well as the BRAKE indicator lamp continue to stay lit.
The 4X4 HIGH indicator lamp flashes for a few seconds and then goes off, and then comes back on to flash again for a few seconds. This cycle repeats itself. No other indicators illuminate when switching the 4AWD selector switch to 2H, 4L or 4H. The air conditioner compressor does not engauge, and thus the unit doesn’t blow cold air.
There is only one lead tapped into the factory wiring for the lighting system, and that is an ignition lead at the fuse box in the passenger kick panel. There is only one instance whereas we think we know what may have caused these problems. 12 volts was inadvertantly applied through the ignition circuit while the key was off, causing certain functions to activate. Could this have caused a snafu in the BCM or have blown a fusable link that I am unable to locate?
Several phone calls to Ford dealerships service departments were unsuccessful except to advise a service visit. The original dealership that sold the vehicle is too far out of the area to visit, and calls to it’s service department were without success or answers. I do plan on bringing the truck in for a look, but I’d like a heads up before doing so.
