adjusting headlights

when changing one of my headlights, i accidently loosened the wrong screw, one of the headlight adjustment screws (one at top of headlight).

any tips on how to properly adjust headlights. i did re-tighten the screw, but not sure if the headlight is properly adjusted. it's on passenger side.

If you haven't mvoed the other side and it is properly adjusted:

  1. Drive into a level parking lot and stop 10 feet from the wall.
  2. Adjust the screw you moved until the pattern of light the lamp you are adjusting is at the same level as the other side.
  3. You can check the patterns by standing in front of the lights, one at a time. Sometimes it is hard to see the patterns because they overlap each other.

Good luck.

Whoops, one more thing. After you have done the above, back up to 20 or

30 feet and see if the patterns are still lined up. Make adjustments as necessary.
