Front Bumper Spare Mount

1987 F-150 5.8L C6.

Anyone know of an aftermarket front-end spare tire mount? I was half- expecting to find one at J.C. Whitney. If these aren't generally made, what's the reason? Any issue with airflow to the radiator?

Thanks in advance.

The main reason - visibility, 2nd reason - Visibility! It only took me

5 miles to decide that was a bad idea back when they made such things!!

And it will most certainly affect your engine cooling. At highway speeds, your fan is more or less useless. All cooling is due to the air flow through the radiator. Block it at it doesn't cool. Also, it is cooling more than the engine. It also handles the AC and transmission cooling.

Had one on my 71 Bronco. During a bad snow storm I hit a stopped pickup on the highway. I was going about 15 MPH and the tire saved the bumpers. Visibility on the Bronco was not a problem. I made the mount, about 3" of tire was above the hood.
