Gas mileage on 5.4 150

That's about right. I've got a 2000 Expy with the 5.4, 60K miles and get about the same. I use the medium grade gas (octane 88) which costs $1.73 a gallon now.

You should get a little better once it wears in, my 2001 F150 XLT Supercrew with towing package with the 5.4 gets 16-17 in highway driving, occasionally

Consider yourself fortunate, I'm not even getting 12 mpg as an average with my '01 Supercrew 5.4L.

What type of driving is typical for you? Unless your driving conditions/habits are rather unusual then something might be wrong with your truck, I have had my 01 supercrew 5.4 since it was new, it's at 120k miles now and has never gotten mileage that poor unless I was driving all day in bumper to bumper NYC traffic. My normal mix of driving is about 1/3 30 mph local roads, 1/3 50 mph county roads, and 1/3 70 mph highways, and it always gets between 15-18 mpg. Heck I get around 10-11 towing a heavy 25 foot camping trailer on long fairly flat highway trips, like my annual trek from NJ to Florida, and that's with a full load of people in the cab and bikes, etc in the bed too.

I drive about 7 miles to work one way on a highway traveling between 60 and 75 mph. I believe that my biggest problem is my right foot, can't keep it from squeezing the pedal lower & lower. My 'crew is 4wd and has 3:73 gears. I have just turned 40K miles on it and bought it about a year ago with 32K on it. It has the "LEV" sicker on the drivers window (Low Emission Vehicle). I am assuming that that may be the culprit or it's just my driving habits.
