I know its not a truck

I do follow this newsgroup, but this time the problem is on my wife's 1996 Taurus.

Yesterday we went in her car. Came out after 2 hours to a dead battery. Got a jump. Got home. WTF????

When we got out at home, the fans were still running. This car has never done this before. I was able to yank the 40 amp fuse controlling the radiator fans to keep from emptying the battery again.

Does anyone know where the sensor/switch is that is telling those fans to run?

Water level and temperature gauge are both happy.

Most likely a stuck relay, not a sensor. Sorry I do not know where it is, but the info may be in your owners manual.
