I just got my 2001 F250. It has power locks, and I was wondering if the module is already installed for the keyless entry with the remote? Obviously, I woul dhave to buy a remote, but is the truck already set up to use them? Will the dealer be able to tell?

The module is not included. Mine came with power locks but no keyless entry, I had the dealer install it.

wondering if the
the remote?
Place the key in the ignition switch and cycle it on and off eight times. If the locks on the doors then go up and down your vehicle is capable of keyless entry. Try it
Are there any other side effects of performing this 8x cycling?

The cycling of the key is the way that the dealership programs your remote control fobs
If you already have remotes and they are both working; fine you are ready for the keyless entry pad.
If you do not have remote fobs and would like to know if they would work on your truck try cycling the ignition key.
was

cycling?
you have to do it 8 times very fast and the engine does not have to start.
I tried it. Nothing. Guess I dont gots them.
Maybe I will just get an alarm with the remote un/lock set up
