New 350 Diesel question...

I just purchased a new F-350 crew cab, short bed, 4x4 , with the 6.0 Diesel and 5 speed automatic transmission... I really like the truck and I will use it to pull a 34', 12,000lb, fifth wheel travel trailer... My question is about the tires: I can't find anywhere in the manual or on the truck what the recommended tire pressure is. (BF Goodrich Rugged Trail T/A, LT 265x75 R16, load range E). On the tire it says "Maximum Tire Pressure COLD is 80lbs. I need to know what I should have in the tires both when I am empty and not Towing and also what I should have when I am Towing... Any help would be appreciated... Bo...

Is it a dually, or SRW?

In my dually, I run around 65 in the front and 70 in the rear when loaded, but when running unloaded, I reduce the rears to 50psi, or it'll beat me to death. Spdloader

That's want the sticker says, but that's at full GVWR. I've been running

55psi in the front and 60 to 65psi in the rear unloaded. Adjust rear tire pressure according to load.

This inflation table came from BF Goodrich for the 265/75-16 Rugged Trail TA tires

The following are maximum loads (lbs) in 5 psi increments:

35 psi/1910 lbs 40/2100 45/2280 50/2470 55/2625 60/2790 65/3000 70/3105 75/3260 80/3415

Dan

Hope this helps.

Short answer...Look on the inside of the fuel filler door. That's where my sticker is...55psi front, 70psi rear. YMMV.

With same tires and 14,000lb 5th wheel, I keep 75psi cold all of the time.
