I have 87 exlporer, V8, 2WD that lost oil presure after replaceing the cam synchronizer. After consulting the Haynes manual it says the engine needs to come out to remove the oil pan. There does not seem to be room to jack the motor up enough to clear the pan. I'm wondering if by removing the steering rack would give the room i need to get the pan out. Anyone with this experience?
