Try coming to a complete stop, step firmly on the brake pedal and shift thetransmission to neutral. It won't shift into low unless you do ALL thethings I just mentioned. Bob"Bill Mageors" wrotein message news:

hey can anyone tell me what I might check to see why my 4x4 low gear doesn't

You're very welcome, but for what it's worth you could have found the same info in the owners manual. It's a safety feature designed to keep people from messing up their transfer cases. Bob
