my 97 pontiac bonneville idles at 1600 to 1700 rpm when cold and will only drop down by several kicks of the gas pedal to 1300 no matter how long i wait . please help from hot rod pop 1945 @WEBTV.NET

Check for:

- Vacuum leaks

- Stuck/binding throttle body or cable

- Faulty TPS or IAC motor

Is the "check engine" light on??
