HELP! S10 Front end question

Hi,

My son has (or maybe had might be more the statement) a 1998 S-10 2wd PU. He ran off the road into a ditch. This ripped the air dam off and also created a mechanical problem. When turning hard left the drivers wheel scrubs the back of the wheel well. Also, the steering wheel doesn't line up at the 12 o'clock position. Strangely enough though, the truck still tracks straight when driving. What do you guys think was bent or damaged that would cause this to happen? Thanks in advance!

Take the truck to a body shop that has a laser frame alignment rack. That will tell you if the frame is mess up.

Then go to a suspension alignment shop and have it check out.

He probably bent one of the two control arms on the left side. Better head on in to a shop and get it checked out. Oh yeah, bring your wallet!

As Ian said;

Also, the latest laser technology: i.e. Chief Genesis Velocity, isn't as accurate as they claim.

A good tram gauge is most likely all you need, because the lower control arm is the sacrificial part in your suspension design.

I hope this helps?
