AAL options?

I have been carefully reviewing the Skyjacker kits availible. The JC301K is $306, while the JC301KS is $591. The only difference I can find is that one is with full rear leaf packs and the other is with Add-A-Leafs. $285 just for springs?

I was thinking I could spend that $500 gift card and get the $306 AAL kit and other goodies from Skyjacker, and purchace the rear springs at a late date.

Questions:

Just how bad does the AAL kit ride/perform over spring packs?

Can I buy the AAL kit, and buy the springs later? Rubicon Express has full

3.5" rear springs for $150. Could I buy the Skyjacker AAL kit and the Rubicon Express springs? If the RE springs is not a venerable option, would I have a problem switching from stock leaf packs + AAL to Skyjacker 3" lift springs at a later date?

Thanks,

Carl

Thanks, Kevin. Would I have a problem putting Rubicon Express rear springs on when the rest of the kit is from Skyjacker?

No not at all. People mix and match all the time. Other options are to get a donor leaf pack from another xj, cut the eyes off of the main leaf and add it to your pack with the AAL still in there. One of our guys did that with decent results. KH

I put a new rear set of stock leafs in with a 2.5" arch and a replacement for the first leaf below the main as a 'keeper' spring already temper arched. They then arched my old front springs and used the same thicker pre arched replacement keeper spring in them. So pull one spring, bend the rest some and replace the one idea.

That was back in 1999 and I use my CJ7 pretty hard on the trails. They haven't sagged a bit and I have a warn hs9000i winch up front to help the bounce out.
