I think that is an overdrive lever.

Unbelievable but true; if you keep searching you'll find a very similar fire department CJ it's even a CJ6 going for much less money. I saw it yesterday. Put a space between CJ and 6 in passenger vehicles and you'll find it.

WTF are the chances of two different CJ6's on ebay at the same time from fire departments?

Lots of departments use them for grass fires and such. We had one for a while in the late 70's.
