Axle question

Feb 08, 2006 4 Replies

Hi,

Is a 1-ton arbor press enough to press-fit the bearing and retainer ring on a axle shaft without too much trouble?

If not, what would be enough? A 2-ton arbor? A 12-ton hydraulic?

I want to avoid using the bfh.

That's a pretty good looking trick for removing the old bearing/retainer. Now to find a spare d44 axle shaft that will fit... /herb
