How to tell the year of a TJ ??

I noticed yesterday that the newer TJ's have only one 7-slot grill for the fresh air intake right below the windshield. My 97 has (3) 7-slot openings. What year did this change?

Also what year did they change the exhaust header design to where the y-collector is right under the shallow part of the oil pan?

I'd like to know about other changes too.

Thanks, Mark Burns

Ug! Somebody should tell that site designer about a little thing called "contrast." A baby blue background with white text is unacceptable.

I could help you make that even more annoying. Make some transparent GIF's where every other pixel is transparent [like a checkerboard] and then use dynamic HTML [e.g. ripoff the dynamic layers code from Project Seven] to slowly move the transparent GIF's across that background.

Pay up. Granted I cheated by only allowing animated GIFs to loop once.

Ahh, the art of annoying web pages, too bad Bill Mirsky doesn't still have his Hall of Shame site any more.

You know those can be set as windows wallpaper and they will still be animated. :)

Not to be picky but

was a 2001 introduction, not 1999. Probably just an oversight on the part of the author.

I'm surprised you didn't editorialize the site with "real jeep" comments. You must be getting soft...;-)

No how about updating it to the pre-Chrysler days? I know, then it's not a Wrangler list...
