Jeep one fingered salute?

If you give the jeep wave to a fellow TJ or YJ owner, and they dont respond, is it acceptable to give them the Jeep One-Fingered Salute?

Always wondered....

very good question, i've often wondered the same thing. i drive a cj and it seems it's usu. the "younger" tj/yj crowd that blow me off. just tryin' to carry on tradition.

Bill, I'd like to see a 'real jeeper' educate me, considering like a biker, I'm about as big as one and just as ugly

Thanks Bill. I thought it may have been a special kind of wave or hand signal.

I refuse to wave to TJ's ...and sometimes to "pretty YJ's" as I call them unless they wave first. Very rarely does a TJ owner wave back unless it is severely modified.

then by the time you see my hand wave you'll be past!! But be sure to see your rear view mirror so you can see me firing the bird your way!

That would be because most of the un-modified TJs are being driven as _cars_. The loss of the "Jeep wave" is the cost of popularization.

Prediction: It is just a matter of time before we see a Jeep descendant with fake wood paneling on the sides.

It's mainly more friendly here in Indiana, the only waves I don't get are from teenagers, and cell phone users.

'02 TJ, not really modified

In the city i suppose you must be too busy juggling the phone, pda, cd player, mocha latte, and crispy cream to bother waving. Out here you wave at everyone you know, and all jeeps and bikes too. If they don't wave back, I just assume they are either busy or oblivious. Not my problem. I do give a "thumb down" to hummers, but I'm not pc.
