Hi folks. I have a 97 Sahara. I can't turn off the light under the hood. I close the hook, put on the lock on both side and I can still see the light is on. For now, I remove the light bulb but can anyone tell me where is the switch to turn it off? Is there a fuse just for that light? Thanks.
Light under the hood?

Is it like the one on my ZJ. There is a tiny mercury tilt switch in there.

Could be the connection got shorted out.
A mercury switch in an off-road vehicle? That's about a sensible as an inertia switch
yes well it doesn't much matter if the bulb is lit while you're crawling up a hill, only that it turns off when parked for the night.
Take it to a self-serve car wash and do an engine compartment cleaning, making sure to get the underside of the hood, or better yet go through a deep water crossing so water is splashed up inside the hood. You'll never have a problem with that halogen bulb staying on again...then of course, it will always be off... :-)

It turns on only when the hood is above 45º or so. Getting out of a vehicle parked like that is a real challange. :]
