loosing stuff

This has got to be the most common mistake on Usenet

Why is it that people who post on newsgroups can't get it straight?

When you misplace something, you LOSE it, not loose it.

When something isn't tight, it is LOOSE.

It's simple really.

Ok, I'll jump into the thread.... Why, If one really doesn't care about something, the comment isn't "I COULDN'T care less", instead of the more-commonly-used "I could care less."

The former is correct.

There just trying to piss you off. They're use of the English language is atrocious. Their you have it in a nutshell. ;-)

by saying you couldnt care less, youre saying you already care the least possible amount. in other words, it gets no worse.

I would hope the original poster meant to say "is" instead of "isn't... but I couldn't care less. n.
