More VW Diesel Knee-Slappers

This is more of a general statement but has some relation here..

Only an idiot blindly belives all the "facts" he finds on the web.

.....

Yet I find it odd on several occasions when you were challanged to do the very thing your doing now, provide even one fact, you continually failed to and simply resorted to acting like a school yard bully, much like your doing yet again, and resort to nothing more then name calling..

Bill act like a man okay?

...again you guys prove beyond a doubt your amazing level of ignorance....

You may hope, you may pray, but the diesel Rabbit will never come back from the dead! Tousands of pissed off VW diesel buyers bought this junk and regretted it. They soon exacted their revenge on VW. By '92VW was down to

58,000 annual sales in the USA and almost out of business here. The Rabbit diesel burned enough consumers, don't try & convince us some poor fools ought to save these two $#!tboxes from the smelter where they belong.

Oh, yeah? The best bid he's got is $750! Now on to the next pile of crap:

At 149k, ALL NEW engine, inj pump, etc. (Boy, that was a waste of money!) I'm sure the real reason he wants to sell it is so the Montanans will quit laughing at him and his smoking pile of junk. (Read the guys description of the thing, it's hysterical!)

Every once in awhile I see one of these smoking hulks crawling around the roads here, usually driven by a Rastafarian or some other deep woods denizen, or maybe even refugee from the Woodstock brown acid. (Rumor has it the Unibomber had quite a few of them stashed but couldn't collect enough parts from all of 'em to make one run.)

Hey if you choose to be foolish enough to provide your full name, address, telephone number, a map to your house, pictures of not only yourself but your complete immediate family all on a web site you freely promote be my guest.. I'm surprised you haven't provided detailed drawings of your house to top it off.

What difference does who I am make any ways.. For what legitimate reason could that information be of any real relevance to you?

It's ironic you mention that, I just happen to have purchased my third investment property just this past Saturday.. And am still looking into purchasing two quarter sections of land within the next few days..

And I'm supposed to take someone who just babbled about such horse s*it seriously?

Except that's my daughters post..

She uses my comptuer as she does not own her own, and I am not in a position to help her move due to a broken leg..

folks.

This BS has gone long enough for me to even get sick of it.

Sorry to say, but this thread from hence forth is plonked. First ever subject blacklisting for me in this froup.

I was referring to the "grand" he wanted to bet that his pos doesn't belch smoke everywhere. :-)

Here's a snip of the description, maybe taken a *tiny* bit out of context, but still funny: "...you can pick on of these up at any junk yard for next to nothing..." heh heh :-)

The thing was a complete design fiasco. It was the "brainchild" of Jim McClernan, VWoA President from '76 - '82. This guy was hired by VW because they wanted to build in the USA and McClernan was a top level GM manufacturing exec. Lest we forget, because of the junk they were building in the mid-70's, GM was in the process of losing about 25% of their market share to the Japanese. Thus, in a brilliant move, VW transplanted into their Company the exact wrong culture & processes and it would soon decimate their US market share. VWs goal was capture 5% of the US market, about 500k sales per year selling junk. Sure, the public is stupid!

They bought the Westmoreland plant (outside Pittsburg) from pre-Iacocca Chrysler and an old AMC stamping plant in West Virginia, plus Chrysler's Sterling Heights, MI plant, which never became operational and was eventually sold back to Chrysler. They then proceeded to "Americanize" the products with cheap looking interiors & trim, and disgusting color packages like the baby blue on that pickup. (Driving one wearing sunglasses and a hat made a good disguise.) Meanwhile the Japanese began setting up high quality manufacturing in the USA, but VW announces they cannot make their cost & quality goals here and shut the PA plant down, transferring production to Mexico in '88. The Mexican-built cars were even worse. By '94 the labor strife at the Puebla plant was so bad, and the quality of the cars so bad, they shut the plant down and fored all the workers. They thus had no cars to sell in the USA for 18 months save the idiotic Brazilian made Fox, and a few German production models like the Passat and Corrado. In a nutshell, VWs US management from 1975 - 1995 was among the worst in the auto industry.

The Rabbit pickup had no more effective payload capability than the sedan with the rear seat folded down. Plus, since it was fwd, it was an ill handling brick with any load in it at all. The cab was so small anyone over

6 ft could hardly enter the thing and the seat travel was non existant....cramp city. Not that anyone would want to drive one of these things very far, anyway. What would be the point? The dealers never requested the product, but got it anyway. Because it quickly became sales-proof they were outraged. However, the poor customers who bought 'em made the ultimate automotive sacrifice.

Oh, stop! Next thing you know you'll be buying fuel at the truck stop.
