It doesn't matter whether you think it is logical or not. What matters, is what the congress, various state legislatures, and the supreme courts have to say about it. And "definitions", which you seem not to like, perhaps because you can't provide one, are the stuff out of which laws are made.

Just goes to show you that our current tax system is bullshit... We should go to a strict consumption based tax system... Basically a national sales tax on everything... Sooner or later, either you or your heirs will buy something with your money and it gets taxed at that point...

From what I understand, it is a relatively uncommon procedure...

Until it can live on it's own, it's a parasite... Since that usually lasts for 18 years or so, there really is no point in debating the first 9 months...

What most folks miss is the party the local or feral dogs had that night when they packed up and killed a mess of elk or sheep for 'fun'.
They then went home for their kibble and along comes the wolf in his morning hunt/scavenge and 'woah fresh meat' with no effort to hunt for it....
Then along comes the farmer on his morning rounds and what does he find? Those 'evil' wolves enjoying the free meal!!....
Just a thought for you Nathan....

Dogs have to be trained, and this takes time, effort, and money. They become irreplaceable. A TV can't learn anything, except maybe channel presets.

If you're going to hunt something to extinction, start on fire ants and mosquitoes first... Get back at me when you've succeeded...
Too bad they're not common enough to make the religious kooks look like they know what they're talking about, eh?

Makes too much sense. Nathan will never accept it. And it conflicts too much, with what his slack jawed neighbors are saying, when they slop the hogs. Don't get me wrong, I love the country, and I wouldn't dream of living anywhere else, but there are some primitive people living here. Some of them will never accept, that just because they are, for example, an ignorant plumber, and I have two college degrees, that does not make them better than I am.
Not everything that is taught in universities is "liberal bullshit", and not everything that your eighth grade educated feed store dock worker says, is gospel.

My wife and I saw gutted deer on our way home from our New Years Jeep run. The dogs were still on that one and these 'dogs' had collars on... I didn't hear what the local's version was, but it sure wasn't wolves that live in the area that brought 'that' deer down... I did get a photo of what I believe was a wolf's track on top of a deer trail a few miles back the road too. They are in my sig line link. I didn't bother taking a photo with the dogs on the guts...
But you know. I saw fresh wolf tracks on that deer trail about 10 minutes back so the natural reaction might have been to think the wolf gutted the deer if I hadn't seen the dogs in action and known better... I know wolves 'eat' deer, they don't gut and leave them.

Well, since my dog doesn't seem to have the "fetch" gene, I'm not that sure he couldn't be replaced... He does have the "forging" gene though -- unfortunately -- but running the leash underneath his chest and back through the snap hook fixes that... Mostly, he has a high concentration of the "smile at me and I'm your's" gene -- no loyalty whatsoever... Half German Shepherd, half St. Benard -- big, friendly, lazy, and dumb...
