Right and wrong are abstract concepts. I think you already know that. Otherwise, it would have been open season on crack heads back east, and you wouldn't have left. ;^)

hi thomas, many in here blow smoke and thats fine, but i also think of you as very level headed which is why i wanted to readdress your message.

WE ALL think things from time to time that we shouldnt. my ex-mother in law was smoking hot. i would NEVER have acted on my instincts, but the fact is that she was smoking hot and any heterosexual man with eyes would have been thinking the same things i thought. i didnt like it that i found her attractive, but i DID. im sure that you and everybody else in this newsgroup is the SAME way. your feelings are just that.....your feelings and you cannot control your feelings.

i was working on a beer cooler in a bar that (on the big-screen tv) showed a close-up of a missle hitting its target in iraq. the entire bar cheered loudly in typical man-style, myself included, despite knowing that undoubtedly innocent civilians also perished in the explosion. it was a sad price to pay but it was for the greater good so everyone cheered.

you cant help the way you FEEL about an issue. this is why we judge men by their ACTIONS and not their thoughts and feelings. i feel in my heart that abortion is murdering children, therefore i cheer inside when i hear of a clinic being destroyed. i love my freedom.....i love being here to raise my children and as such i would NEVER participate in such an act......but i cant help how i feel about it. are you really going to judge me on my feelings instead of my actions?

ill admit that they are a beautiful animal. ive watched wolf pups play, very cute and innocent looking. wished i could take one home and domesticate it. to bad thats impossible.

im working on that. ;-)

true.....but im just not ready to give up yet. one day truth and goodness will prevail. probably not in my lifetime, but eventually it has to before we render each other extinct.

That's why you should elect a Libertarian president. Give us a chance to prove, that we mean what we say.

I think what Earle means is "Is it a child that matters ? ". The answer being in this country "no" if it is less than 18 weeks after conception.

I'm all in favour of abortion ; probably better to kill it rather than have yet another addition to our 6 billion population that you probably aren't prepared to look after properly as you didn't want it in the first place. However there is no point in arguing if the basis for not aborting is based on religion as the "God Told Me So" argument is almost by definition irrefutable.

Dave

No, I was wrong. Earle meant "What is the current legal definition". (Sorry Earle).

Dave

Thus it's a moral judgement on your part... For that, I would definitely say that *you* should probably not get an abortion... It would definitely mess up your psyche...

And sometimes the bear wins...

I should have clarified. One pump on my 40 y.o. Benjamin.

It would be cool, if all laws were enforced the way they were written. That would be incentive, to clean up the law books. And get that lazy good for nothing sheriff off her fat ass...

Oh, I agree completely. It was an unfortunate happenstance. Luckily it was not a really serious injury, just a few stitches here and there.

My mom just could not take the chance that it might happen again, even if she gave him away. If - and I do say IF - I remember correctly she got him while working for the Sheriff's department. I think he was a former K9. Like i said, I was 4 or five years old. That's a long time ago, back when dawgs still had tusks and I am not sure of the whole story.

For some reason I am thinking that she was trying to rescue him in some way or something. Like he was going to be put down and she wanted to try. I just don't know - sorry. Mom was great with animals she could teach a critter to do damn near anything, even her big white dog to go get her dish, climb up th the table with it, set it down and bark for beer. She once had a horse that would play soccer well... sort of. He would pick the ball up in his teeth and throw it and he would kick the ball and chase it. Funny as hell. He's entertain himself for the longest time with that ball.

Actually, I think that was my dad's horse.

: GSD's are the exact product of their environment and upbringing.. German : Shepherds love children by nature, and one that bites a child, wasn't : properly trained. Simple as that. My grandson at Christmas reached down the : throat of my "Zeke" to "get his cookie back". Zeke wouldn't think of ever : biting that child.

Good dog.

: : I could not kill a dog that did something like that, when it was I that had : failed, and not the dog.

Careful there.... you just never know.

: I've had GSD's for 40 of my 42 years. (5 total dogs, plus a new puppy now ) : Two well trained police K-9's among them.

:¬)

It was legal where I grew up... Not where I live now, they train dogs to run deer here.....

See, WHERE did I say that I didn't have a dog? I had my own dog. She was the runt from a litter that one of my grandfathers terriers threw. She was a misfit too. All the others were white with black, my dog was black with a dab of white on her chest. She was a mighty hunter and chased everything from squirrels to coyotes. She would have defended me to the death, and was my constant companion.

When we went riding she would get tired so we would put her in a saddle bag and away we's go. It was pretty cool.
