those Tuffy center console inserts...

I picked one up last summer at the flea market for $10. Well constructed but a very tight fit. I am finding it tight to get to the seat belts and it gets in the way when tilting the seat forwoward to let passengers in and out the back.

I've been watching this thread because I too am interested in the product.

However, all of the replies so far have been about Tuffy center consoles (the whole things) and the subject line (and coincidentally my interest) are with the console *inserts*. These are the steel box liner that goes inside the factory console (on TJ's only, I think) and provides a secure box with a stock external look.

Anyone have any experience with those?

Um, are you talking about the full replacement console, or just the insert. It sounds like the full console, to me. I don't see how the insert, which simply goes inside your existing plastic center console, could make any difference with clearance to your back seats or seatbelts...am I missing something here?
