The wholesale difference between #1-D and JP-8, which is maybe ten cents. JP-8 is simply JP-5 with a cetane and lubricity spec making it safe for all common diesel engines without additional lube oil added.

Of course you could retrofit all RoosaMaster and CAV pump engines with Bosch pumps...

Yeah, and was still heavily involved in truck lines, railroad lines, and shipping lines back when the big hassles concerning multi-transport freight began. It was difficult to maintain sympathy for what the teamsters did, but worse you could see how it could kill it for everybody including the truckers. More correctly it would kill the small truckers that were either owner-operators or had half a dozen rigs or less. Seems to have done so unfortunately so now we have no railroads and no independent fleets left to speak of. The few I knew personally sold out such that only the name is left. Bummer.

Shirley you don't expect it to be cheaper than the current stuff. Costs more to make, but I'd expect the tax folks to consider adding enough tax soon to keep fuel over $3.00 a gallon, which according to the gov't is the main reason diesel is so freaking expensive today...the tax is higher at the federal and many state levels.

They were 9 mpg cars then, I remember firsthand. 18 mpg was the ECONOMY COMPACT!

Dang Bill, what haven't you done in your lifetime?

When I was just a little Kate, my daddy drove a Mack I remember he even had a Mack dog on his pickemup truck.

One of the guys that posted a photo of his Jeep a Mack dog on his Jeep hood too.

My baby brother drives a Peterbuilt all day every day and my cousin and her hubby own/operate a KW.... I have a pic somewhere of me as a little Kate, a little blonde headed muppet sitting on my father's truck.

: > Woah! At that, no wonder you hate them.

: I have a niece who is a lesbian. Thinks her purple F250 4WD with a : stake bed is really butch. Considering she has yet to haul a single : thing in it and lives in downtown St. Louis where any normal person : would buy the smallest vehicle possible if only for parking, I'd call : it goofy.

Gawd, I guess so! The F two-fitty that lives here earns it's keep.

At only a 3/4 ton truck, this summer we made several trips with just under two tons a piece in the back of it. Hauling rock, gravel, sand and landscaping materials. If you don't work a truck, why have it?

Wow! man this is a long topic!!

Skimmimg through this pi$$ing contest got me to thinking about something.

How come it is that > Jason Backshall proclaimed:

Another reason to live in Colorado. Not even a tremor since I have been there, and just enough geo-thermal action to fuel a few hot springs for the tourists. There are, of course, four or five avalanche chutes visible from my house, but to my knowledge no one in recorded history has been caught in one. Unless you count the Town Trustee who got a DUI last spring, for walking around on top of a fresh slide, too stubborn to back off when the road crew told him it wasn't safe.

Uhh... Nope!

Seriously. I'm surprised that some of them don't turn gay women straight. Why, if they don't like men, would they so hard to BE one?

It's just something I have wondered many times.

Did you know Moose & Benji?

Exactly.

When the Jetta's lease expires, off to the Liberty dealer they go.
