What did everybody get for Jeepmas?

When you write the check for the payoff, are you allowed to add a 20% gratuity just for the sheer giggles at having done a very good deed?

No, but I do have those. They suck. I got the Delorme Topo USA 4.0 to run in my Virtual PC's Windows XP on my Titanium Powerbook. The Delorme product is far superior. The folks at NG's Topo! and I went back and forth a while back about their product. They made some extraordinary claims about the new TOPO! and how it was now OSX compatible. It is, but it doesn't even touch their competitors maps. Delormes topos are vector based and have tons more detail and have a live scrolling feature as you drive plus the 3D view, not found in TOPO! Running Topo USA in VPC is slower but it's worth the waiting. All of TOPO! maps are bitmap and turn to garbage when zoomed in whereas the vector is still crisp no matter how far in or out zoomed. I also like the route planning feature in Topo USA better, just a tad.

The Jeep runs great. Now I need an oil change. Running a few quarts low today. :)

The best thing about fresh oil is the lifters stop ticking for a few weeks. I've got to get in there but not this year. Saving that for when I put on a new header and possibly port the head a bit while it's off.

Hahahaha this is awesome. I like the changes, Del. Even got my wife laughing, 'Sounds just like you!'. But I think the drill bits and cans of beer need to be swapped. ;)

Mine did too. It was one of the bigger ones. Couldn't believe it said "for hard packed surfaces outside, short grass, and indoor surfaces". I took it back and used the money to go towards a tool chest (which she wanted to get me but couldn't find). I'm going to buy the small one when the stores get them back in.

Yeah, mine is pretty lousy too: though nearly a foot long with 3" monster tires, it'll get stuck climbing over any obstacle bigger than a pencil.

Still, I kept it. The body looks better than most, so eventually I may try to slap it on a better chassis... or make a static model out of it. Decent TJ models seem pretty scarce (I have yet to find one).
