Ahhhhhh I see! Do you think that she is embarrassed because she was caught in the lie and embarrassed because this guy is probably someone her father would not approve of and is trying to defend her decision so she doesn't look like a fool?
I have a 22 year old kinda like that. *sigh* You have your hands full with that one. Maybe you ought to just pick up the phone, and talk to her.
Don't bring up anything controversial, just a nice "Hi honey, how ya doin? How's the baby? Have you gone and played in the mud lately?"
Daughters seem to like avoidance when it comes to this sort of thing. Well, both of mine do anyway. Sometimes it's the only way we can make up if by just not mentioning it again.
I hope you get what you want for Christmas. My hubby has a 40 year old daughter that hasn't spoken to him since we were married. Seems she didn't like that he was remarrying after he divorced his first wife - her mom. It's too bad, because he misses her a bunch and really does not know why she is angry with him.
Prolly TMI, but what the hell, this way you know you aren't the only dad in this kind of a pickle!
