3.5V8 engine - is this a good price...

I've been offered a complete V8 carbed with gearbox/transfer (4 speed, as mine) with an apparently genuine 37K miles, and all ancilliaries (from a RR of similar vintage as my 110), for £550 delivered to my mechanic. The same place also has an 89K carbed engine for £250. I assume that my power steering will just bolt on to the replacement engine...

Is this a decent price (the £550 engine)? What should I expect to pay an independent landrover mechanic/workshop to swap out either just the engine, or the whole lot? Is it much more difficult to swap out the engine/gearbox as a whole?

So many questions, so little time...

Thanks in advance.

yes if it's all in good condition and the mileage is genuine. If it were me I'd want to see it running or at least do a compression test.
