Hi Gang. Where I work in Exel Middleton, one of the drivers asked about buying a Landrover and which the best to look for his use in Russia "yes Russia". I immediately pointed to Defender 110 like my own as being a good work horse. After some extra handy help from LR mags he eventually decided on 200tdi csw defender.. This if luck holds out should be a good investment in Russia yes. Also could boost our prestige abroad no doubt.

There are shedloads of Land Rovers in Russia already. There's even a parts distributor with outlets in Moscow and St Petersburg (Leningrad to real people). There's also a growing yet already quite staggering export market for the new Range Rover (top of the range, obviously).

hehe. Only thing I'd be slightly wary of, especially on earlier defenders, is security. The locks on the earlier ones in particular are not exactly the best in the world. The one on the back door of mine could be opened with a screwdriver.

Nearly every time i see a picture of an 'expedition vehicle' it has a hasp and padlock style lock on each of the doors....
Is that the one where 4 blokes in leather coats kick down the front door of the car thief and leave him in hessian bag outside the local cop shop dripping something which looks like tomato ketchup. Should be available from Halfords anytime or by mail from a football ground say in London?. Derek
