AFL Unofficial greenlaning dayout ....

Feb 16, 2009 14 Replies

OK, fed up waiting for someone to decide where and when so I'll start again ...

Saturday April 25th possibly stay over (camp to be decided) and also do Sunday 26th.

I'm going to the Peak District, doing a few lanes we've done before and maybe a couple of new ones, Monsal Dale, Stanage Edge. Anyone wants to come along email me as per headers (notcheckedever at hotmail dot com) and I'll tell you start time and place, though a bit of looking back will find it anyway .. ;)

I'm definitely going, I have a mate or two who'll also come along if no-one else wants to, so no worries or pressure on anyone to come ... but if more than three AFL'rs want to join in my mates will go as a separate party and opposite direction, maybe .. ;)

I might well be up for that, prolly just the day for me, buit i can't see a problem Paul.

Seems like a sensible date for the start of the canvas season.

Perfect.

Well... we could well be up for it.

Camp site that will take a BIG caravan ;o) ?

Is any one invited (cough)

Or does one need to know the Secret knee trembler !!

I could bring my pinnie along as well !!

As long as wifey allows me to wear it !!

DieSea

Yup, anyone on AFL will be welcome ... ;)

You bring the pinnie and you can do the cooking ...

Looking at a place called Cottage Farm at Blackweel, between Bakewell and Buxton. We've stayed there in caravans and tents before. Very nice place.

Thanks

I've just checked my diary

It looks like that I'm away playing in the Forests of Scotland for three weeks about that time

Nothing too difficult , even something I and my ancient Diso can cope with

The event I usually "Help" out on has been moved from autumn to spring

I can't really blame them

Two events within six to eight weeks takes time to recover ( financially )

Thanks again

seems ok to me - Local knowledge always welcome by us travellers from afar.

Will they be happy with our ramshackle assortment of canvas, plywood & fiberglass?

I would think so, calling them later today to get a feel for prices for, say, two caravans and four tents a gazebo etc.

groovy - t'is in the diary - doesn't clash with anything - we'd plan to make camp on the Friday evening, probably three small tents rather than one big family sized monster.

let's hope this one works :)

thanks Paul

No answer today, so will let you know when I get one .. ;)
