Best place for wheels an tyres

Hello all. I am in need of a set of wheels and tyres for my td5 90, has anyone any recomendations for a good supplier, have been checking the net an prices do seem to vary quite a bit. Also what are the largest tyres that will fit standard size alloys on a stock defender, as I don't want to do a suspension lift due to the possibility of invaliating the waranty. Hopefully I will be able to fit 267/75R16 MT's.

Thanks in advance.

They are based in Hannington Northamptonshire. 01604781414 I recently purchased a set of BFG A/T's off them. Fitted and balanced plus the cost of fuel to get there still worked out cheaper than anyone local to me.

Nene Valley seem pretty good on price, and they're very helpful over the phone. I've used them a couple of times, not been disappointed.

As to size, the largest size fitted as OE would be 265/75. I have fitted

235/85 (same diameter, a bit narrower) and they were great. No lift, no rubbing, just a slight hike in the gearing over standard. Funnily enough, this brought the speedo to within 1% accurate.

Don't go too wide if you do a lot of mud - 265 may look the biz, but in mud narrower can be better.

It would have helped if you had mentioned in what part of the world/country you are. :-) Personally I find that even adding the cost of fuel it is a lot cheaper to drive to Micheldever Tyres at Micheldever Station than get them from even the well known cheap places locally. I know they do 4x4 tyres as well.
