It's getting harder and harder to insure a diesel conversion unless you can demonstrate that it's been done 'professionally' (ie you can produce a bill that says that you paid someone else to do it, regardless of whether they know what they're doing or not :-)

The resale value for anything other than a Tdi conversion is likely to go through the floor - some of the comics specifically advise against buying anything other than a Tdi.

That said, there's a guy not far from me who has a Mitsubishi Shogun V6 diesel in a Rangie, and it seems to be a good choice.
