Disco II Centre Diff Lock

Apr 05, 2004 2 Replies

I know there are some after-market centre diff lock actuators for Disco IIs without the necessary actuator linkage fitted, such as the Discoparts kit, but I've also heard you can buy the Genuine Parts linkage off a later Disco II with CDL and retro-fit it. Does anybody know if this is the case, and how to do it?

Thanks.

I bought the gear lever, front xfer case cover and linkages from a ser I Disco. Fitted it and works fine. Minor cutting to allow sideways travel on xfer case lever. If your still has clutch assembly on xfer case, don't need that front cover but as mine was a 2002 model, no such luck. Total cost was around GBP 200 ....but it was South Africa.

E-mail me for more detailed info if required.

BTW, if you have a center diff lock light, you have to have it activated by testbook or the unexpected signal from the xfer case will cause errors.

So it seems that your past threats to go over to the dark side (Prado) were just idle talk!

Good to see that you are still enduring Soilhulls finest.

Regards Stephen
