The climate control unit as catches on its short sides. Removing the radio won't assist you but taking out the clock and switch panels may. The clock and switch panels have catches on the upper and lower edges and can be removed by inserting cards/sheets there.
I've got some photos somewhere that I'll send so that you can work something out.
I've also got one of those bulbs out - but I can't remember if they're accessible or even replaceable!
Do you *have* to remove the radio to get the clmate control unit out to replace the bulb behind one of the temperature control buttons?
Can you remove the clock and switch blocks and get at the clips that hold the unit in that way?
Taking the radio out is what RAVE says, you then reach down the sides an press the catches in.

According to RAVE and forum posts you take the CCU out, undo a couple of pozi screws, split the unit (carfully!) and the bulbs are then accessible and changeable. Part 8510251 about =A33.50 mail order + postage etc... Think I'll drop by the stealers next time I'm passing.
