Disco TD5 Auto Cruise Control

Sep 29, 2003 8 Replies

Hi all,

Recently joined the wonderful world of Disco ownership (or at least my wife did, but I will get to use it to tow the bobtail!) and have come across my first problem.

The cruise control has just stopped working. The light on the on/off switch goes on/off (clever, that) but the steering wheel controls have ceased to do anything.

Anything I should at first?

Cheers,

Jon.

Check the vacuum hoses - may have split or come adrift....

A TD5 is 'fly by wire' and has no hoses or vacuum lines

I got the same with my TD5 and can't source the problem. All the switches are giving the right signals but still no cruise control :-(

Try the brake light bulbs , I beleive if one blows the cruise is disabled.

Worth a try.

300tdi disco (no cruise control)

Modern cruise controls also talk to the ABS control unit. Problem could be the link between 'em ;)

Hmm, intriguing. I did actually replace a bulb shortly before the fault appeared - cruise had been working with a faulty bulb and doesn't now that the bulb works. I'll try taking it out!
