I would like to fit cruise control to my TD5 defender. As the ecu is the same for the disco and defender then I am guessing that the cruise control facility is there aswell, may be wrong but hope springs eternal. Have had the steering columb cowl off and there is still the a spare bracket which could take an after market cruise control stalk. So the question is could it be that simple or have I missed some thing? Also would anybody have a wirring diagram for a disco? Any help greatfully received.
TD5 Cruise control

Dad,
Fitted cruise control to my manual Disco II TD5, took about an hour and cost about £50. All the wiring is in place the hardest part was cutting the hole for the switch on the steering and that was only cause I took my time to get in the correct place.
In fact the switch has quite a wide "skirt" so positioning isn't too critical. I drilled a series of small holes then use a pair of wire cutters to cut between the holes then a file to tidy things up a bit.
I got the parts from

this is the link for the cruise control page:

I suspect that Richard

I think it needs to turned on on your ECU.
