ETC not working

Please help

Went of road today and got stuck. looked out the window and only the front off side wheel was spinning. So is there a problem with the traction control. No warning lights illuminator on the dash.

Did you have the diff-lock engaged ?

2000 models don't have diff lock ... ETC was supposed to make it redundant

I also think, that apart from the 2000 model year Disco 2 NOT having a diff lock on the center diff, that it also lacked ETC on the front axle. I seem to remember that for the first years of its application ETC was only fitted on the rear axle of both Disco and Range Rover vehicles. IIRC ETC was available at both axles when it was also introduced for the Defender. I may be wrong though.

Take care Pantelis (who prefers mechanical (manual or auto) diffs over ETC)

I think the other problem is that ETC senses speed difference between wheels, so if they are all spinning like crazy the computer just thnks you are doing 70mph down the M1. If one wheel has traction and the other not then it works much better.

Sell it and buy a decent 101 you don't have to worry about traction control then...... Brev
