Exhaust mounting rubbers

After spending most of a blisteringly hot afternoon under the 90 replacing the middle exhaust section, the most frustrating part was replacing the rubber hangers. So I know for next time, are there any wise tips from the group for getting the rubbers over those barbed hooks without losing most of ones skin?

Regards,

Dave.

Flatten out the ends & then bend back over once the rubber is on!

That's cheating! Washing up liquid usually works for me. Hands end up soft as your face, according to the advert. In my case it's true, but you haven't seen my face.

I know, generally, the sort of thing you mean.

1: Gardening gloves

2: Push with a deep socket, maybe a plug spanner, that goes around the hook.
