Freelander rear wndow

On our freeloader the window opens and closes as long as you have your finger on the button. Removing your finger makes the window stop in whatever position it is in at the time. This is about the only part of my god-forsaken excuse for a vehicle that hasn't actually broken yet!!!!

Hmmm, from fully closed, if you press the button briefly, does the window open fully in one movement ?

Yes, I think this is a safety feature, though I don't quite get it.

Bear in mind that if you leave the rear window open when you are driving, the slipstream sucks exhaust emissions in through the gap.

It's safe when you are parked, of course, so I invested in the rear window guard-thing (like a dog guard but for the window) and although it was pricey it was worth every penny.

I was talking to a lady today who stopped me when I parked my car and asked me how I got my rear window to be half open. She could only get hers to be either fully open or fully closed.

As a result, I am happy with the operation of my rear window :-)

The window reacts differently if the vehicle is *not* moving.

Thanks, mine is obviously working correctly, although I don't get the safety feature either.

I don't find the fume thing a problem as long as one of the front windows is opened a fraction, this causes a flow of air from front to rear and seems to keep the fumes out.
