Good Landrover Garages/Spares in Scotland

Can anyone recommend anyone in the west of Scotland as being good to deal with for Landrovers?

We're over on the Isle of Mull so have to take a boat to get to more or less anywhere.

I'm looking to replace the tired 2.286 petrol engine in my tatty old Series 2A/3 with something that burns diesel instead. Ideally a nice little Perkins Prima with a turbo.

The only likely looking donor vehicles I can find on eBay are all hundreds of miles away in England.

he is in the middle of moving houseso I dunno if the address on there is his new one or not - in any case he'sgoing to be knocking around the Glasgow area somewhere. I've only bought little bits n bobs off him but his service has always been good - not sure if he'll have a diesel for you but he may a man that does?

Talk to Lix Toll Garage in Killin - they might be able to help. Could be worth looking at the various Scottish LR / off road web-sites too I guess - there is a good LR breaker in Edinburgh whose name I can't recall at the moment - - -

Presumably that's the same engine as in the Montego? I gather that's a straight drop-in with an adapter plate for the gearbox.

Thanks, I'll do a full trawl of the scottish websites when I get a couple of hours free. Edinburgh is just about the limit I'd want to go really.

Alex Lindsay - good bloke and knows his Landies - he's out at Broxburn, outside E/burgh! There are of course numerous breakers in dear old Glasgow but no personal experience of them I'm afraid.

I haven't actually given money to Lix Toll yet but can confirm they are nice people to deal with and not as expensive as MacRae & Dick, Inverness (who are also nice people, let me add! Just bought a 300Tdi from them!).
