Isn't the hair a bit of a givaway...? ;-)

Is that when they say....

ello, ello, ello...

Boom boom!

Never miss a chance to hammer a good stereotype :-)

and in many cases I suspect perpetuates it. Certainly, IMHO, the so-called correct phrases can be made to sound just as insulting, if the speaker intends to insult.

Should make them a cake.

It doesn't you still have to put the clip in,

It's like those self changing gears innit, there is no mystic hand that does it for you, just an idiom.

I was once at the wrong end of an armed responce unit being armed with nothing more sinister than a flute, but then that was a lvery ong time ago when they asked questions first and shot later.

A gun is a gun is a gun is a gun and any gun is an advantage over not having one in a situation when you need one, but then again without the bullets they are not much good.

If I were in any kind of hostile territory I don't think I would want to be caught out with a gun.

I carry a very effective weapon and completely legal, its called a walking stick.

Then again if that aint enough there are always the flutes :)

Were they music lovers, by any chance? :-)

(sorry, couldn't resist...)

They were actually out serching for me and complimented me that I appeared where they did not expect me to as I used to have the power of making myself invisible, which was why they were called out in the first place, It was the University security who called them out because they saw this strange person walking about with what looked like a gun, who just vanished in front of them. (not everyone can see in the dark as well as I can)

It was quite obvios to them when I was challenged that I was not dangeros or armed. But four cars that was over the top and this was well before Hungerford.

Just be gratefull you weren't letting your doggy do a icckle poo on the lawns. They call 4 patrol cars out for that nowadays....

I cannot see any (personal) situations where (me) having a gun would be at all necessary or in any way beneficial. I've been in a number of somewhat 'hostile' environments during my very few years on this sublunary abode, and if anything, I think that "not having a gun" - at the time, was a quite positive advantage.

I always try to carry the three most powerful of weapons; Honesty, Humanity and Humour. They've never let me down.

I also play the Bagpipes, but never in anger...

(well, I did once and the neighbours threatened to go and buy guns...)
