Hi-lift Jacks

My local off road garage is offering two kinds of genuine Hi-Lifts, one "all cast" and another (£10.00 less) "cast and steel"

Any comments/advice as to whether the extra £10.00 is worth it would be appreciated

Never had any trouble with my all cast one, and it's done a lot of work. Don't know about the steel and cast, but I would imagine it's just as capable. I find some of the bolts work loose occasionally so you need to keep your eye on those. It needs cleaning and oiling only occasionally but an indispensible piece of kit for all manner of jobs. Keep the handle parallel to the rack when changing gear.

Some of the cheaper ones are inclined to bend. For peace of mind I'd go for the Hi-Lift - they do exactly what it says on the tin - forever (with a bit of oil now and again).
