Despite it costing ~£150 (*) p.a. that is exactly why I stay with Direct Line (actually Green Flag).
Every time the RR has died without possibility of roadside resurrection _they_ have volunteered to take it and me home, wait for me to book it in to _my_ preferred spannerer and then collect it for delivery to him.
Last time it was a starter motor that died in Swannage. They collected it and us on a flatbed, delivered us to our hotel, kept the RR in their pound overnight, collected us the following day at the arranged time, took us all to Sevenoaks, then took it to Brixton a week later.
The bike died in Wales in July (another starter motor). The recovery firm collected me and bike, too us to their pound issued me with a Ka, kept the bike overnight and delivered it to me the following day.
Everyone of the recovery blokes has said what a joy it is to work for Green Flag.
M-I-L's SAAB died the other week about 2 miles from her home. AA arrived and told her that they would only take it to the nearest SAAB dealer not to the chap that services it
that's one car covered plus two people's personal cover.
