Spotted a LR that I don't recognise for the 1st time ever today, trundling down the A64 around York this evening. It was a flat bed pick-up type thing, very old (on black and silver plates) looked like a cross between a 101 and a 110 Hi-Cap, front end was not as flat as a 101 though.
Can anyone put me out of my misery and tell me what it was?

Probably a Series 2a 109FC or a Series 2b 110FC. The first was a forward control of what was essentially a standard 109. This had a number of shortcomings, including a distressing tendency to lie on its side, and being even easier to overload than the standard 109. The much improved 2b (wider track, longer wheelbase to enable the use of ENV axles and numerous other improvements) was rather more successful, but became one the first casualties of the Leyland takeover. Both were rather underpowered, particularly with the diesel.
