OFF ROAD TYRES

Hiya guys an galls

Well, its that time of year again,,,,,,,,,,the time when i need to think about my new tyres,

ive used Bronco dirt devils before and had no complaints at all, so i was going to buy another set of 4, but unfortunatly theyve stopped making them,

so,, i thought do you lot have any prefferd tyres you use for trialing/off road.

im looking for a fairley aggressive tread, but must be lroad legal as my series cant fly yet.

i was considering GRIZZLY CLAWS but just wondered if you had any other suggestions

cheers

andy

ps, got to be 235-85-16

Currently running Grizzly Claws on the Beast as 235/85 16. No complaint so far, but I did run Bronco Diamond Back previous to then on a S3. Mightly impressed with the tyre, as are most who have seen them at work. Not as noisy as Diamond Backs, but some hum from them at speed, but dont know what Dirt Devils were like for road noise....

aggressive as you can get away with legally. They are fantastic in the gooo, but scary as hell on wet tarmac and not that much better on dry tarmac!!! but thats radial tyres for you. Also they`re hard to get hold off as they aren`t made anymore. I beleive Olympus do a version of these sats now - and they`re crossply so they behave better on the road. On the defender I have BFG muddies which are good in the goo and fairly quiet and responsive on tarmac. But they aren`t exactly cheap. but they are supposedly good for a good 30-40K miles.

Cheaper option would be Colway muddies - simillar pattern to BFG but alot cheaper and probably just as good.

If you mean Olympic, they were radial - and longer available - which is a shame as they are my favourite tyre, agruably better then the original SAT. As far as I can make out, no-one makes a SAT anymore, worst luck. The nearest seems to be the General SAG cross-ply. Unforunately I've got Michelin OR's on at the moment - good at digging through loose stuff, but dire in all other respects. But free!

I use General SAG Radials on-road, pretty good but wearing a bit more quickly than I'd like, and the manufactuer can't spell tyre properly.
