OK, i may have given in to temptation....

I'm giving consideration to a 101, will I be able to drive it reasonably comfortably as I'm 6' 3" & about

17 stone. I found the S3 very cramped but the 110 fine. How much would I realistically be paying for a decent once? I don't want a show winner etc, but I don't want a shed! Not arsed about MPG etc as it's not my main car. There aren't that many around in Bradford/Leeds, in fact I think I have only seen one!

I'll have a gander at the 101 site for general stuff, but I wondered about the practicalities for me really.

Our 101 club magazine editor, Roger Hill Cottingham is 6 foot plus, and I think Graham G. is too. So you should fit. Want to take a gander at mine close up ? Its at jn 19 on the M62.

I'm 6'3" ish and find it quite comfortable. Better than some cars! I'm quite a bit lighter than you though.

You get loads of headroom in an ambi, but you may want to lengthen your wiper arms as as standard they dont touch the top 3 inches of the screen (where taller people look through!)

I hear that there are quite a few 'larger' 101 owners around who have no trouble ;-p

Most people with 101's dont dwell on MPG. Just get ready to feed it a lot of fuel!

Join the 101 yahoo group/list if you havent already. Plenty of usefull stuff goes on there.

I'm 6' 1" and found it much more comfy than the Series 2. A bit more tricky to get into, but pretty good once you are in.

I'm 6ft1 and over 20 stone, and i had no problems. If you have very long legs you may find difficulty getting your knees under the steering wheel without difficulty.

Oh, fit longer wiper blades tho...

I found that i had to actually lengthen the arms as even if you buy longer wiper blades the extra length is at the bottom where its bugger all use! (that how all the blades i could find were anyhow!)

What did you use ? Steve

I ended up chopping a section out of an old wiper arm i had lying about and welding it into the 101 arm. Covers the screen perfectly now. It has a bigger blade on it too.

I can go meaure what size blade i have on and how long the arm ended up later if you like?

Eventually i'll get round to taking it off and measuring it and maybe buying a shiney new one of the same length.

When I got him Morph had one 90 one fitted and one which I had assumed was standard 101.

The one I had assumed as standard 101 had equal numbers of cammo paint on it. I pulled the 90 one off because it was too short and refitted the other

101 matching arm with a new wiper blade (previous keeper robbed 90 arm off a scrap 90, couldn't be faffed with getting a new blade).

Long and short of it is that I had to carefully adjust the new blades to stop them fouling on the top of the windscreen. The new blades were Series III items I think, got them at the Local landy place anyhow. Don't know if that helps or muddies the water any.

This picture actually shows I have yet to remove the cammo from the passenger side one (on the right as you view the piccy).

They seem to be the same ones fitted from when he was a baby...

of warning I'd offer is to be careful what you are trying to weld.I triedplastic coating a pair or wiper arms at School and watched them meltinto a poolof alloy, fortuantely those weren't rare items.Lee D

I'm 5 foot and not very much, weigh 11 stone, and find mine wonderful to drive, being a short rs, it can be a tad awkward to get in and out, but I know plenty of owners who are on the larger side and find them easy to drive and use.

do tell the wife if its an ambi and you convert to a camper!! That's what convinced mine....
